Maldives Twin Stay
Seaplane or speedboat? Why not have both…
A couple were dreaming of a two‑week twin‑centre escape to the Maldives, flying business class with Emirates and starting their trip in style with a chauffeur pick‑up from home to the airport. They knew they wanted a larger island with a fantastic Maldives all inclusive plan, bicycles to wander around, some gentle evening music or entertainment and, most importantly, an excellent house reef. They also had their eye on Baros Maldives, a resort they had always dreamt of experiencing.
This is where expertise really matters in the Maldives. All‑inclusive and dine‑around plans can vary hugely from island to island, and the small print often hides what is and is not actually included. I spend a lot of time on specialist Maldives training and keep up‑to‑date with resort dining plans, inclusions and house‑reef quality, so I was able to narrow down the options quickly and match their wish‑list to the right Maldives all inclusive resort.
The challenge came with the logistics. In the Maldives, international flight times do not always line up neatly with the last seaplane transfers of the day. Their homeward Emirates business class flight left Malé much later than the final seaplane from their chosen resort, which meant a straightforward two‑week stay on one island was not going to give them a smooth journey home.
I suggested a Maldives twin stay. For the main part of the holiday, we chose Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa Maldives, on a generous all‑inclusive plan in a Beach Residence with Plunge Pool. It offered exactly what they were looking for: a larger island with bikes to explore, a great house reef for snorkelling, a strong choice of dining and drinks within the plan, and relaxed evening entertainment so the resort still felt alive after dark.
To solve the transfer issue and honour their long‑held wish to stay at Baros, we added a two‑night finale there, closer to Malé, to make departure day much easier. Baros Maldives also offered a private speedboat transfer direct to and from the airport, which gave them that total wow‑factor arrival and departure: skimming across the lagoon rather than waiting for a shared seaplane, and still reaching the resort in time to enjoy their last day.
With Emirates business class Maldives flights, chauffeur service to and from the airport, carefully timed Maldives seaplane and private speedboat transfers, a considered split between Hideaway and Baros, and close attention to the fine print of their all‑inclusive plans for the majority of their stay, they enjoyed the best of both resorts and a much more pleasant travel day home.
